‘Itu is a legend of the club’ – Kaizer Chiefs keeper praises Khune

Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Bruce Bvuma has spoken kindly of suspended keeper Itumeleng Khune.

Amakhosi suspended Khune in December after allegedly arriving under the influence of alcohol to training.

Since then, Bvuma took over and played six games, keeping five clean sheets in the process.

Speaking to the media, Bvuma admitted he idolised Khune when he was growing up.

“Itu is a legend of the club, a legend of South African football. This is one person that we all idolised growing up, especially goalkeepers,” he told the media as per iDiski Times.

“I’ve learnt a lot from him. With everything that’s going on, this is some one that I’ve very close with,” he said.

“We do talk quite a lot and he’s happy with me playing and performing for the team and stuff.

“Do I miss him, of course I do. As I mentioned he’s a club legend, he’s a South African legend. Not having someone like that next to you, of course you miss them when you [were] with that person each and every day,” Bavuma said on Khune.
