Chiefs target wanted by English and Saudi club

Kaizer Chiefs’ reported target, Stanley Nwabali, seems highly sought-after. Two clubs from abroad are interested.

KAIZER CHIEFS TARGET STANLEY NWABALI TO MOVE OVERSEAS?

The 27-year-old from Chippa United made his name as early as this season. Nwabali later earned a call-up to the Nigeria national side. It was with the Super Eagles that Nwabali helped the team to a silver medal. The Chiefs target was also rated second behind Afcon 2023 goalkeeper of the tournament Ronwen Williams.

According to the world-leading transfer news reporter, Fabrizio Romano, Nwabali is wanted overseas. The two clubs are Al Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia, and Queens Park Rangers in the English Championship.

NEW CONTRACTS AT AMAKHOSI

In the meantime, Chiefs have extended deals for their two leading goalkeepers.

The club recently confirmed contract extensions for Bruce Bvuma and Brandon Petersen.

“The contract extension, which keeps Bvuma at Kaizer Chiefs until June 2026 with an option to extend for a further year, underlines the Club’s belief in their goalkeeper’s abilities. Bvuma’s fellow goalkeeper, Brandon Petersen, has also penned a contract that will see him at Chiefs until the end of June 2026, also with an option to possibly add another year.

“29-year-old Petersen arrived at Naturena from the now-defunct Bidvest Wits in 2020, but he was only officially registered in July 2021. With the current season being his third for the Glamour Boys, he has represented the team in 43 official matches,” the note added.

Meanwhile, the Glamour Boys have fixtures to focus us this wekeend. On Tuesday is Golden Arrows’ visit at the FNB Stadium at 19:30. The second Chiefs match of the week will be the Soweto derby against Orlando Pirates at the same venue on Saturday at 15:30.
