Mamelodi Sundowns offer bumper deal to keep star!

Mamelodi Sundowns are looking to keep one of their talented players by any means, for the long-term future.

Sundowns have just come out of a mammoth January transfer window, splashing the cash on four players.

Despite already cruising in the DStv Premiership, Sundowns were the most active side in the January window. The Brazilians already had a nine-point gap on second placed Cape Town City, with three games in hand at the time. That did not stop them from pursuing a squad boost ahead of the second half of the season. Of course for them, they also have to factor continental commitments with hopes of a Club FIFA World Cup too.

Now with that on the horizon, Sundowns went and signed the Likes of Zukho MdunyelwaMatias Esquivel. Then when everybody thought that they had strengthened enough, they add Thembinkosi Lorch and Tashreeq Matthews. It was the signing of a talisman from their rivals, Pirates, which garnered the most headlines. But with such signings, it seems as if the pathway for youngsters to the first team has been blocked. According to Soccer-Laduma, that may not be the case, with the club looking to tie down 22-year-old striker Keabetswe Ramotsei. 

Ramotsei set for bumper senior Sundowns deal?

“The team (Sundowns) is looking at having more young, local strikers and even other players in the team and that’s why they have offered Kea (Ramotsei) the senior team contract. It’s a five-year contract and it will run from July this year until June 2029. He is one player that has a great future for the team and the national team could also beneSt from him, mainly the junior Under-23 national team. He has been training with the senior team and the technical team are happy with what they have seen already,” said the source.

Another source weighed in on the impression Ramotsei has made at Sundowns.

“Everyone in the club is happy with his progress since he joined the DDC team at the beginning of the current season. He has SuperSport been doing United well in the DDC and everyone in the club who has seen him play midfield agreed star that Teboho he deserves a first team contract hence the five-year Mokoena offer that talks the club has given him,” said the source.

With Sundowns having Peter Shalulile and Lucas Riberio, it remains to be seen how many chance Ramotsei will get.
