VALERENGA OSLO SIGN CAPE TOWN CITY PLAYERS

Whoever doubled as a French translator at the Citizens faces less work now. Cape Town City players Ambina and Fasika have left on loan.

Additionally, the exit deals include options to buy.

“After several weeks on trial, the two players signed for Norwegian First Division side Valerengra. The Oslo giants confirmed the two players have joined on loan,” the club announced.

“Vålerenga and the South African club Cape Town City have agreed on a loan deal for Nathan Fasika Idumba and Brice Ambina.

“The boys have impressed in trial games in the last period, and will be reinforcements heading into the season, which is only a few weeks away.

“Midfield anchor Ambina is initially rented until the summer, while national team stopper Idumba will be out in 2024. The club has secured an option to purchase both,” the report added.

The Cape Town City players are set on helping Valerenga return to the premier division. The club was relegated from the Eliteserien in 2023.

TIME IN OBSERVATORY

Ambina, 22, moved to the Mother City in February 2022 from Cameroon’s Renaissance FC. He delivered one assist in 58 games.

Meanwhile, the Cape club have promoted the 21-year-old central midfielder Luyolo Slatsha.

Former FC Saint Eloi star, Ambina, aged 25, became a Cape Town City player in July 2021. The Congolese central defender scored twice in 39 games.
