Pirates legend shot in home invasion

In shocking news that came to light on Thursday, it was revealed by Orlando Pirates that Buccaneers legend Stanley ‘Screamer’ Tshabalala had been shot during a home invasion at the family residency. Apparently the incident occurred on Wednesday.

The good news is that The Citizen reports that he is said to be recovering.

“The Tshabalala family would like to thank the public for their messages of support during this time, and have asked for privacy while Bra Stan is recovering,” read a statement.

Pirates had previously shared the following information on Stanley ‘Screamer’ Tshabalala

“Former Bafana Bafana coach Stanley ‘Screamer’ Tshabalala was shot following a house break in at the Tshabalala residence yesterday, just after Midday,” read a statement from Tshabalala family spokesperson Thato Matuka.

“The matter is currently in the hands of the South African Police Services.

“The Tshabalala family would like to thank the public for their messages of support during this time, and have asked for privacy while Bra Stan is recovering.”

Back in 2022, the football fraternity was left mourning the death of Stanley ‘Screamer’ Tshabalala’s son, Tokollo ‘Magesh’ Tshabalala.

At the time a source from the family told City Press the 45-year-old Tokollo had a long battle with epilepsy.

“Orlando Pirates Football Club is saddened by the news of the passing of the son of Mr Stanley Tshabalala, Tokollo,” the club said.

“Tokollo, who also goes by the name of Magesh, was a renowned musician, famously known for his song writing and being a member of the group TKZEE.

“We convey our heartfelt and deepest sympathy to the Tshabalala Family and pledge our profound moral support. We supplicate that God gives the family fortitude at this moment of extreme grief and pain.

“May his soul repose peacefully,” the brief ended.
