Paris Saint-Germain remain interested in struggling Marcus Rashford as INEOS mull over his future – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United are currently languishing in sixth place in the Premier League and their goalscoring woes have seen them score as many goals as newly-promoted Luton Town, who are currently in the relegation zone.

No United player has managed to breach the ten goal-mark in the English top flight this season with Rasmus Hojlound currently the top-scorer with 13 in all competitions.

Erik ten Hag has severely been let down by Marcus Rashford, who had scored 30 goals last time out but has managed a measly eight goals so far.

Apart from the fact that he has found it hard to find the back of the net, his motivation levels have also come under fire while his off-field controversies have created numerous unwanted headlines.

Rashford’s disappointing season

The Mancunian was seen partying after the first Manchester derby defeat while he also indulged in a 12-hour tequila bender in Belfast and reported ill for training.

There were discussions between the forward and the manager to deescalate the situation but despite getting an eventual clean chit, his form is yet to see an uptick.

New co-owners INEOS are planning a summer clearout as they look to steer clear of FFP concerns and selling an academy profit equates to pure profit and they remain open to the England international’s sale should a big offer arrive.

Paris Saint-Germain have been eyeing the 26-year-old for some time now and there was initial contact but the player opted to sign a new long-term deal last year which will keep him at Old Trafford until 2028.

But with United reportedly open to sale and with the Parisian club set to lose Kylian Mbappe, who looks destined to move to Real Madrid, a move is not beyond the realms of possibility as Fichajes have pointed out.

“Marcus Rashford, Manchester United’s talented English striker, has been in the spotlight due to disciplinary issues. Despite his undisputed ability on the field, certain off-field antics have generated controversies that have affected his relationship with the team and fans. These issues have sparked speculation about his future at Old Trafford.

PSG want Rashford

“Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has shown renewed interest in signing Rashford in the upcoming summer market. Despite the ups and downs in his career at Manchester United, the young striker’s undeniable talent and potential make him an attractive target for the French club, which seeks to strengthen his squad to compete in Ligue 1 and Europe.”

The Englishman’s current market value stands at €60 million according to Transfermarkt and if an offer close to €100 million were to arrive, INEOS would have a hard time rejecting it.

If Rashford is at the top of his game, there is no doubt he can be the talisman for the team with his manager even calling him “unstoppable” last campaign. But his inconsistencies have refused to leave him despite his advancing years.

Off-field distractions coupled with a lackadaisical attitude on the pitch have seen his stock go down quite a lot this season. He needs to buckle up soon or the player who joined the club at the age of only seven could be heading out the exit doors.
