The Glazers to attend the FA Cup semi-final along with Jason Wilcox and Sir Jim Ratcliffe – Man United News And Transfer News

As if the FA Cup semi-final vs Coventry needed any more stakes attached to it!

The Athletic report that the Glazers will fly in from the USA to attend the game at Wembley and they will be joined by INEOS’ latest hire, Jason Wilcox.

This after Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s presence has already been announced for the game.

As such, this will be the first time that Sir Jim and the Glazers will attend a game together since the confirmation of his 25% stake in the club.

It will also be Wilcox’s first rodeo after being confirmed as United’s new technical director recently.

The FA Cup is United’s only chance at a trophy this season and with Erik ten Hag’s job increasingly under scrutiny, the semi-final and the potential final could be make or break for him.

He hasn’t been helped by the injury crisis that has taken over the club again and he could very well be without any senior centre-backs for this one.

Willy Kambwala, Mason Mount, and Sofyan Amrabat are the new absentees which means Harry Maguire and Casemiro might start in the defence.

Still, United should be expected to beat Coventry considering the stakes attached to the game as well as the narrative around it.

No final decision has yet been taken on Ten Hag’s future in the job but this game feels like a crucial turning point, either way.

A win here might not definitively save his job, as there is Manchester City to contend with in the final after.

However, a loss might make him a dead man walking in the job as no amount of mitigating factors with injuries would excuse a limp performance against Championship opposition in the biggest game of the season.

All executive eyes are on him, this time literally.
