Africa most valuable clubs: Pirates trump Chiefs

South African soccer’s big three were rated among the most valuable clubs in Africa. Here we reveal how they measure about against the rest of the top 10 from other African nations in terms of market value.

The top 10 most valuable soccer clubs in Africa for the 2023/2024 season are from just four countries: Egypt, South Africa, Morocco and Tunisia.

With a market value of 30.5 million euros, Egyptian club El Ahly are the most valuable in Africa this season.

The South African Mamelodi Sundowns follow closely with a value of 29.15 million euros. The same trend follows in third and fourth place, with another Egyptian and South African, Pyramids FC and Orlando Pirates, with market values of 21.73 million and 19.55 million euros, respectively.

Egypt’s Zamalek SC then round off the top five with a market value of nearly 19.23 million euros.

But while Egypt and South Africa dominate the top five, there’s a bit more variety further down the list, with Morocco and Tunisia entering the fray to complete the top 10, where Kaizer Chiefs rank eighth.
